Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Park Forest police announced an arrest in one of the assaults that occurred in the community last week. The attacks prompted police to issue a Code Red community alert.

Police announced the arrest of Marc Greska in connection with one of those assaults. From the Community Alert issued March 20:

[O]n the morning of 3/20/14 at approximately 9:00 a.m., a 39 year old woman walking near Shabbona Park was approached by a subject who grabbed the victim’s waist from behind and thrust his pelvic area towards her. The offender was described as a black male approximately 25 to 30 years old, approximately 6’, with a medium build and light skin complexion. He was described as naked but wearing a skull cap.

Police issued the following statement regarding Greska's arrest:

On Monday, 3/20/14, the Park Forest Police responded to the report of a man wearing only boots and a skull cap, but otherwise naked, who battered a woman in a sexual manner while she was walking near Shabbona Park. After an investigation by the Park Forest Police Department Investigations Unit, 34 year old Marc Greska of Oak Forest and previously of Park Forest was taken into custody. The felony charge of Aggravated Battery against Greska was approved by the Office of the Will County State’s Attorney. Greska will be held in custody pending a felony bond hearing on 3/29/14 at the Will County Courthouse. Greska was also charged with one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct for an incident on 3/26/14 where he was seen in the same area wearing only boots and a hat, but otherwise naked. He did not confront anyone in that separate incident.

We would like to thank the public who have contacted the Park Forest Police Department with tips and information, which greatly assists in these investigations.

Anyone who may have witnessed any incident or who may have information about any incident is urged to call the Park Forest Police Investigations Division at (708) 748-1309.
